Pre-Departure COVID-19 swab and Serology tests will be available in our clinic from 22 Dec 2020 onwards, for individuals 13 years and above.

Testing windows:

The required testing window is calculated based on your flight timing. For ease of reference, you should be present at our clinic for your Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test at least 48 to 72 hours prior to flight (whichever is the applicable requirements set out by your destination country).

It is likely that Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test results will not be ready if it is less than 48 hours before your flight. We will not be able to conduct swabbing on an urgent basis, nor expedite the process of the Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test.

Documents to bring for appointment:

  1. Both Identity card and passport
  2. Soft copy or hard copy booking reference indicated name, passport number, date and time of your flight.
     

Test Results:
You will receive your test results via email within 4 hours of the clinic receiving the results from the lab. We will send you the results to your registered email address. Please note that you will have to print a hardcopy of the memo yourself.

Indemnity:
It is possible that there may be a delay in your results during the transport and processing, which can lead to an event where the flight is missed. Please refer to our FAQ for the terms and conditions of the pre-departure COVID-19 Tests.

 

FAQ:

1. What is the required testing window for a Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test?
The required testing window is calculated based on your flight timing. For ease of reference, you are advised to present at our clinic for your Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test at least 48 to 72 hours prior to flight (whichever is the applicable requirements set out by your destination country)

2. Why do you need my NRIC and passport for a Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test? What about local address and email/handphone number?
Verification of your physical NRIC and Passport is part of our protocol. These particulars are required information for your results memo.

Your local address and handphone number are necessary to facilitate contact tracing in the event that the test is positive.

The results memo will be emailed to you, as soon as it is ready and at least 3 hours before your flight.
 

3. What happens after the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test?
The Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test takes 15 minutes to complete. You are advised to minimize contact with other individuals and thus, reduce the chance of contracting COVID while awaiting the swab result.

We will email the results memo to you as soon as it is available and at least 3 hours before your flight. In the event that the result is positive or inconclusive, we will contact you via phone.

You are advised to print hardcopies of your results and bring it with you overseas.
 

4.What if the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Test results fail to be ready on time?
KBL works with authorized laboratory partners appointed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Tests. It is possible that delays occur in the transport and processing of specimens as well as in conveyance of results.

In the event that the results cannot be furnished within 3 hours of your departure due to exigencies of service on the part of KBL and/or our laboratory partners, we will refund the full cost of the tests.

KBL and/or the partner laboratories shall not be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities whatsoever (including, without limitation, any direct or indirect damages for costs, loss of income, revenue or profits, business interruption) resulting or arising directly or indirectly from your use of our test services.

The terms and conditions of our Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Test service will be shared with you at the point of registration for your review and acceptance before the test.
 

5. What if the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is inconclusive?
Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results may return as inconclusive. In that event, a repeat test may be conducted and is chargeable. Should this result affect your departure, KBL and/or the appointed laboratories vendor(s) shall not be held responsible or liable for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities.
 

6. What if the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is positive?
In the event that the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is positive, there will be no memo for fitness to travel. We will contact you to make arrangements for an urgent referral to NCID for subsequent care and management.
 

7. What if the Pre-Departure COVID-19 Serology Test result is positive?    
In the event that the Pre-Departure COVID-19 Serology Test result is positive, there will be no memo for fitness to travel. Our doctor will consult you on the management plan depending on different scenarios.
 

8. Are there any additional charges for the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology test other than listed price?
There will be no consultation fees or additional charges for the service.

However, if you are consulting for other medical conditions, you will be billed accordingly. Please note that the cost of the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test and/or Serology Test cannot be billed to your corporate plan or policy.
 

9. Can I go to the clinic directly for the tests without an appointment?
All swab/serology tests are strictly by appointment only. Please call KBL clinic to arrange for an appointment us at: +65 66887018/81826328  or email to Medical1@kblhealthcare.com.sg  for appointment booking. We advise you to arrive punctually for your pre-departure COVID-19 Test.
 

10. Can I get a Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test even if I’m not travelling? Can I do a swab test if I have flu symptoms?
KBL Healthcare is only certified by Ministry of Health (MOH) to do COVID-19 PCR swab for asymptomatic individuals for pre-departure purposes.  Please consider seeing a doctor and to do swab in Swab and Send Home (SASH) clinics.
 

11. What if I want a hard copy of the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Test results?                                                                          
You may request a hardcopy of the Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test and/or Serology results at KBL Healthcare Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, Saturday :10am to 3pm. No additional charges apply.
 

12. What if I need additional memos apart from the standard memo for Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Test results?        
KBL Healthcare will provide the standardized Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab and/or Serology Test results memo as guided by the Ministry of Health (MOH). We do not routinely raise additional memos pertaining to pre-departure tests.

If you should need additional memos, kindly raise them to our staff prior to the tests. Additional memos are subject to the nature of the request and/or additional charges.
 

13. Is Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab/Serology Test available for children?
KBL Healthcare only provides Pre-Departure tests for individuals 13 years and above.
 

14. How is the sample going to be taken?
The COVID-19 PCR swab test will be taken from both nostrils according to the lab guideline, and the COVID-19 Serology IgM test will be taken from the venous blood by a professional nurse or doctor.

15. Can your clinic help me check my country’s policy when do I need to reach the clinic for Pre-Departure COVID-19 test?
We do encourage our customer to double check with their country’s latest news and regulation for the requirements of Pre-Departure COVID-19 test to prevent any miss out information.
 

16. If my flight falls on Monday or Tuesday, can I come to do swab on Saturday or Sunday?

Our Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test operating hours is: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 10:30am, by appointment only.
 

17. Can I use Marina bay sands membership card to earn or redeem points with the payment of Pre-Departure COVID-19 Tests?

Yes, you can use Marina bay sands membership card earn or redeem points after the payment of related Pre-Departure COVID-19 Tests.
